Eastbourne to Hastings Easter works
We will be carrying out essential work over Easter from 18 to 21 April 2025 inclusive between Eastbourne and Hastings, closing all lines.

The work will take place over Easter weekend 18 to 21 April 2025.
What work is taking place?
We’ll be undertaking essential engineering work between Eastbourne and Hastings. This will involve closing all lines to lay over 5km of new track.
We’ll be renewing 2,700 metres of track at Collington. And a new level crossing will be installed at Pevensey, involving 150 tonnes of new ballast, 160 metres of new rails, 120 concrete sleepers and new road markings.
When is the work taking place?
From Friday 18 to Monday 21 April 2025.
How will this work affect me?
Buses will replace trains between Eastbourne and Hastings with journeys times increased when using replacement buses. Please plan ahead before you travel.

Why is the work needed?
All the works are to improve the rail network to allow more trains to run, increase the speed that they can travel at and improve reliability to reduce future delays for passengers.
